  • Abdullah

    Palestinian poet, actor, and scientist, who describes his poetry as grammatically, structurally, and politically correct & incorrect. He started writing poetry after the death of his Grandmother Zeinb in a tent in Gaza, aiming to document the genocide, and to fight the dehumanisation of Palestinians.

  • Beca

    Venezuelan and proud migrant in London, who enjoys talking about identity, culture and connecting through dancing. Beca has been working in the charity sector supporting marginalised communities for over 7 years.

  • Ines

    Ines is a medical doctor with a focus on migrant and refugee health, and project management in resource-constrained settings. Ines recently moved to London to pursue an MSc in Global Health.

  • Johny

    Born in Rio and currently based in London, Johny is a deeply curious person who believes in the generosity of shared knowledge. Johny’s been shaped by people who opened doors once thought out of reach, and carries that gift forward to others.

  • Jorge

    Northern-Mexican artist living in London whose work explores themes of migration grief, identity, and the ways in which social structures shape personal experience.

  • Mourad

    Artist from a mixed heritage Syrian and Argentine background born in the UK and currently based in Glasgow. whose work touches on a collective sense of place and our shared experiences of the urban space through memory.

  • Moyra

    Peruvian performing artist working across movement, sound, objects, and visual arts, exploring socio-political realities through performance, film, and visual storytelling.

  • Rim

    Tunisian, a mum of two, a behavioural therapist by profession and a cultural connector by passion. Rim is the founder of Nowart London, a London-based platform dedicated to spotlighting SWANA voices in London and beyond.

  • Sara

    Colombian/Lebanese Londoner with a creative soul, drawn to the layered experiences of minoritised and mixed-race communities in the UK, especially where identity, representation, and belonging intersect.

  • Jumana

    Sudanese feminist and gender justice advocate. Jumana’s work focuses on community-centred organising grounded in connection, care, and collective practice. Much of Jumana’s work involves engaging with women and creating spaces where knowledge, experience, and action are shaped collectively and on their own terms.

Our Advisory Board

  • Sarah Amawi

    Sarah Amawi is a Palestinian Jordanian-Syrian cultural producer, performer, and researcher based in London.

    Sarah’s practice spans dance, theatre, and community-led cultural work, with a focus on SWANA identity, resistance, and belonging. She is the co-founder of Juzour Dance Collective and producer of the Arabic Open Mic night in London.

  • Elise Bateman

    Elise ‘Eli’ Bateman has worked and volunteered in member-led organisations helping employees, students and researchers develop campaigns for change in their communities.

    As an author, she runs and manages The Tribe, a writing group for Black and Brown authors to have a place to vent, collaborate and feel safe.

  • Delso Batista

    Delso Batista is a psychologist, psychotherapist, and researcher whose work bridges clinical practice, community wellbeing, and decolonial scholarship.

    Delso holds a PhD in Psychology from Nottingham Trent University and a Master’s degree in Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Counselling.

  • Emmanuel León Bobadilla

    Emmanuel León is an anthropologist and multidisciplinary artist from Perú. He works on community and art-based research projects focused on uplifting voices coming from the global majority.

    He’s currently pursuing an MSc in Visual Material and Museum Anthropology at the University of Oxford.

  • Jin Du

    Jin Du is a health and gender equity consultant with over a decade of experience spanning clinical practice, government policy, and international development. 

    Jean brings a strategic lens to complex stakeholder engagement, large-scale transformation, and programme design for social impact.
